Free SVG Nesting Tool

Pack your laser or CNC parts onto sheets to cut material waste. Drop in your SVGs, set how many of each, pick your bed size, and download a tiled, ready-to-cut layout. Runs entirely in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

Got a logo or photo instead of an SVG?

Nesting needs vector parts. If you only have a PNG, JPG, or a sketch, turn it into a clean cut-ready SVG first, then bring it back here to lay it out.

Why nest your parts?

Material is usually the biggest running cost on a laser or CNC. A tighter layout means more parts per sheet, fewer sheets per job, and less offcut in the bin. For makers cutting batches, a good nest pays for itself on the first run.

This tool sorts your parts tallest-first, lays each one flat across the bed, fills the row, then starts a new row, and opens a fresh sheet only when the current one is full. Turn on 90 degree rotation and it will stand a part up when that packs better.

Questions

What is nesting?

Nesting arranges multiple cut parts on a sheet so they use as little material as possible. Instead of placing each part by hand, the tool tiles them tightly and spills onto extra sheets only when one is full.

Is it really free?

Yes. The nesting tool runs entirely in your browser and is free to use. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

What machines does it work with?

Any laser or CNC that imports SVG: Glowforge, xTool, Ortur, K40, OMTech, Snapmaker, and most CNC routers. The output is a standard SVG you can drop straight into LightBurn, xTool Creative Space, or your CAM software.

What units should I use?

The tool treats the numbers in your SVG and your sheet size as the same units. If your parts are drawn in millimetres, set the sheet in millimetres too. Most laser SVGs are already in mm.

Can it nest irregular shapes tightly?

This version packs by each part bounding box, which is near-optimal when you cut many copies of the same part (they tile into clean rows). True shape-fitting around concave outlines is on the roadmap.

This tool stays free. The conversions are what cost.

You came here to nest parts on a sheet, and that does not change. But if you also turn customer images into cut-ready vectors most weeks, paying per file adds up fast. The year is $49 for 25 conversions every month, which is 0.16 a file over the year.
