Photo Engraving G-code Generator

Upload any photo and get laser-ready G-code in seconds. Optimized for xTool, Ortur, Sculpfun, Atomstack, OMTech, and any GRBL-compatible diode or CO2 laser.

Per-pixel power modulation

Uses GRBL M4 variable-power mode so your laser intensity tracks pixel darkness in real time — giving you true photographic depth, not just binary black/white.

Atkinson dithering

Atkinson dithering (the one Apple used in the original Mac) preserves contrast far better than Floyd-Steinberg for laser output — perfect for wood, slate, leather, and anodized aluminum.

Serpentine raster scan

Alternates scan direction row-by-row and skips whitespace at row edges, cutting engrave time by 30–50% on sparse images.

How to use the G-code

  1. Download the .gcode file generated above.
  2. xTool Creative Space: import the file, set your material, hit frame to check placement, then start.
  3. LightBurn: open the .gcode with File → Open, then check speed/power match your machine.
  4. LaserGRBL / Ortur / Sculpfun: load the file directly, home your machine first, then run.
  5. Always run a small test square on scrap material to dial in power/speed for your specific laser wattage.
