How It Works

1

Upload Your Design

Drag and drop your PNG, JPG, or artwork. Our AI converts it to a clean vector in 2-5 seconds.

2

Get Your SVG

Download a sharp vector SVG with clean edges — ideal for white-layer generation and choke calculations in your RIP software.

3

Print, Powder & Press

Import into your RIP software, print on PET film, apply adhesive powder, cure, and heat press onto any fabric.

Why DTF Loves Clean Vectors

Sharp White Layer

Clean SVG paths let your RIP software generate precise white-ink underlays. No fuzzy edges, no white halo bleeding around your design.

Perfect Choke Control

Vector artwork enables accurate 1-2px choke insets. The white layer sits perfectly behind the color layer, invisible to the eye.

Scale to Any Garment

The same SVG works for a 3-inch cap logo and a 14-inch full-chest print. No resampling, no pixelation, no re-tracing.

Works on All Fabrics

Unlike sublimation, DTF transfers bond to cotton, polyester, nylon, denim, canvas — and clean vectors ensure the transfer looks great on every substrate.

FAQ

What is DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing?▼

DTF is a printing method where designs are printed onto a special PET film using CMYK + white ink, then coated with a hot-melt powder adhesive. The transfer is heat-pressed onto fabric, bonding permanently. Unlike sublimation, DTF works on all textiles including cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, and even leather.

Why use SVG files for DTF printing?▼

SVG files are scalable vectors that maintain crisp edges at any size. This is essential for DTF because designs often need to be resized for different garments (small logo on a cap vs. full-chest print on a hoodie) without quality loss. Clean vector paths also produce sharper white-layer chokes.

What is a white layer choke in DTF?▼

A "choke" is a 1-2 pixel inset of the white ink layer behind your design. It prevents white ink from peeking around the edges of the printed transfer. Most RIP software (Acro RIP, Flexi Print, Cadlink) can auto-generate the choke from clean vector artwork — which is why SVG input produces better results.

How is DTF different from sublimation?▼

Sublimation only works on polyester or poly-coated surfaces and requires the ink to chemically bond with the material. DTF works on virtually any fabric (cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, denim) because the adhesive powder bonds mechanically. DTF also prints a white layer, enabling vibrant colors on dark fabrics.

What equipment do I need for DTF printing?▼

You need a DTF printer (modified Epson, Prestige, DTF Station, or similar), PET film, DTF ink (CMYK + white), hot-melt adhesive powder, a powder shaker/curing oven (or manual shaking + oven), and a heat press. RIP software like Acro RIP, Flexi Print, or Cadlink Digital Factory handles the white layer and color management.

Can I sell products made with VectoSolve DTF designs?▼

Yes! All converted SVGs are yours to use commercially. Many custom apparel businesses, Etsy sellers, and print shops use VectoSolve to create DTF-ready designs from logos, artwork, and photos.

Doing this for customers?

If DTF printing is your business, you are probably paying per file.

An outside art service charges 6 to 26 dollars a logo and comes back the next day. Redrawing it yourself costs half an hour you could bill. A year here is $49 for 25 conversions every month, every machine format included, which works out cheaper than two outsourced logos.

Everything on this page stays free. This is only worth it if you do volume.
