For PrusaSlicer, Cura, Creality Print, Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer

SVG to STL Converter, Free, One File per Color

Drop the SVG you already have. Get one STL per color, lined up on a base and numbered by filament slot, plus a 3MF for Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer. It runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded and nothing is charged.

A real SVG, and the STL files this page made from it

Made with this page’s default settings on 5 Nov 2026. The picture on the right is drawn from the STL files themselves, nothing retouched.

  • 4 STL files, one per colour, all in the same position
  • 100 x 105.8 mm at the default 100 mm width, 28,576 triangles
  • Every file is watertight: no open edge for the slicer to repair
  • A 3MF for Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer comes with them

Only filled shapes become parts. Strokes and live text in your SVG are skipped: outline them first.

What the Converter Does With Your SVG

  1. 1Reads every filled shape: paths, rectangles, circles and polygons, with CSS classes, groups and transforms applied.
  2. 2Keeps the colors you see, and merges the closest ones beyond the number you choose: 2, 3, 4, 6 or 8, four by default for one AMS.
  3. 3Scales the design to the width you pick, 40 to 200 mm (100 mm by default). The height follows.
  4. 4Builds a base under the design (its outline, a rectangle, a circle, or none) and raises the colors 0.6 mm above a 2 mm base. Or prints them face down for a smooth front, mirrored so it reads right.
  5. 5Removes details thinner than your nozzle can print, then checks that every part is watertight.
  6. 6Writes one binary STL per color in a ZIP, numbered 01, 02, 03 by filament slot, and a 3MF with the same parts.

Before You Export Your SVG

The converter prints filled shapes. Three things in an SVG are not filled shapes, and the converter tells you when it skipped them.

Strokes

A line drawn with a stroke has no area to print. Turn it into a shape first: Inkscape, Path > Stroke to Path. Illustrator, Object > Path > Outline Stroke.

Live text

Text needs its font to be drawn. Convert it to outlines: Inkscape, Path > Object to Path. Illustrator, Type > Create Outlines.

Embedded pictures

A PNG or JPG placed inside the SVG is not traced. For a picture, use Image to STL, which traces it into flat colors first.

Why Not Import the SVG Straight Into the Slicer?

Bambu Studio merges every color of an imported SVG into one part on one filament, and its split tools only separate pieces that do not touch. Users asked Bambu for a real multicolor import on its GitHub in August 2025. Here each color arrives as its own part, already in place, in an STL per color and in a 3MF. (issue #8044)

SVG to STL Questions

Is the SVG to STL converter really free?

Yes. Your SVG is already a vector, so there is nothing to trace: the STL files and the 3MF are built in your browser, with no account, no watermark and no limit. What VectoSolve charges for is turning a picture (PNG, JPG) into a clean vector.

Is my SVG uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and converted in your browser. Close the page and it is gone.

What happens to strokes and text in my SVG?

They are skipped, and a note tells you so. Convert them to shapes before exporting: in Inkscape, Path > Stroke to Path and Path > Object to Path; in Illustrator, Object > Path > Outline Stroke and Type > Create Outlines.

My SVG has only one color. What do I get?

A single STL: the design and its base merge into one watertight part, and holes such as the inside of an O stay open. That is the plain extrusion most people want for a sign, a stencil or a keychain shape.

How many colors can the STL files have?

You choose 2, 3, 4, 6 or 8, four by default. If your SVG has more colors, the closest ones are merged, so tiny edge shades never become their own part.

What size will the print be?

You set the width, from 40 to 200 mm, 100 mm by default, and the height follows the shape of your SVG. Pick your nozzle size too: details thinner than it can print are removed so they do not come out as stray specks.

How do I load several STL files so they stay lined up?

Load all the files at once and keep them together as one object with several parts: PrusaSlicer and Creality Print offer this when you load them, and in Cura you select them all and use Merge Models. Then give each part its filament, using the number at the start of its file name.

I only have a PNG or a JPG. Can I still get an STL?

Yes, with Image to STL: it traces the picture into flat colors, then builds the same STL files and 3MF. The preview is free; the files come with the unlocked conversion.
